I am a full stack developer with a psychology background, which means I am comfortable in building a good user-experience front-end, and analyzing the data to build a user-oriented back-end model. I ALSO ENJOY LEARNING!! The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know. I want to keep learning in my future job!

We aim to provide a comprehensive information portal for freshmen/transfer students to learn the services around them. For example, our application provides nearby information on apartment rentals, furniture sales, car rentals, textbook trading and etc. My main responsibilities are contacting housing owners for potential partnership opportunity.

WDI taught me how to learn. When I don’t understand something, I would go on the Internet and seek for some alternative explanations. If it doesn’t work, I would try to rephrase my understandings of the problem in my own words. The more I think about my question, the easier for me to find out the correct answer. After I built a few apps with JavaScript and Ruby on Rails, I actually figured out that building other apps with other programming languages are easy. I have a passion for honing my Ruby on Rails skills, and continuing to learn different programming languages as a growing developer.
Psychology is a study of human mind and behavior. Not only can I understand more about myself, but I can also get a better understanding of people. Since I am also experienced in using Photoshop and Illustrator, the combined experience helps me to develop good user-experience skills when working on the front-end environment. My psychology background also allows me to create good surveys and analyze the research results using different programs such as Survey Monkey, Inquisit and SPSS. Not only can I design a detailed-oriented survey for users’ subconscious need, but I can also analyze the results and pay attention to users and clients’ needs and design the backend models to cater for their needs.
